[2023/11/10 16:21] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: or possibly he got hit by a truck and reincarnated, we didn't have much time for asking questions

[2023/11/10 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben looks the scroll over. It's written in some wierd language, with blocks of text. Are you even holding it the right way up...? Hmm. Nothing can be gleaned from this.

[2023/11/10 16:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Nor dwarven or arcane runes." She pulls out the previous scrolls they got from the -other- people trying to kill them to compare.
[2023/11/10 16:27] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "How did these shmucks even know how to read this?"
[2023/11/10 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: The scrolls are similar, very similar.
[2023/11/10 16:27] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at them."Maybe someone in town can read it." She says." And maybe they have the cart

[2023/11/10 16:28] Sonja Bikergrrl: They say lightning never strikes twice... but lightning balls? There's a loud crackling, and a glowing ball of light, shimmering and swelling with tendrils reaching out...
[2023/11/10 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben moves behind a tree again, getting clear of the dead guy they're standing next to!
[2023/11/10 16:30] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps back as well.
[2023/11/10 16:30] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me flies back quickly too
[2023/11/10 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Just as before, a shimmering globe of energy swells, brightens, and discharges with a loud POP! leaving a cloud of fading mists, and... a crouching figure, that rises slowly. Humanoid, but, clearly not human; this one is tall enough to even stand over Leesha. The body apparantly made of stone, inlaid with gold strips and dark plates, with what look like wooden veins... the figure stretches, twisting one way, then the other.
[2023/11/10 16:33] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps forward. If this is an enemy she can keep the other two safe if need be.
[2023/11/10 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure notices you, and red eyes flit from Debben to Leesha to Dahlia.
[2023/11/10 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Greetings..." (sounding slightly uncertain)
[2023/11/10 16:34] Alicia Frakture: Greetings?
[2023/11/10 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Hello?" Debben inquires, peeking her head out from behind the tree.
[2023/11/10 16:35] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me smiles and flts around playfully making a circle of pixie dust in the air between Leesha and Debben, "Greetings! your kind of tall, nice to meet you."
[2023/11/10 16:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: You notice a little more about the figure. Humanoid, feminine in appearance, with minimal clothes of the same stone she is made of, bearing a shield with what looks like a gear wheel on it, a sword at her side and a curious metal cylinder with a hand grip at the other hip. Etched on the forehead, a curious pattern.
[2023/11/10 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: Red eyes track Dahlia. "You are kind of small... a pixie? You're an ellusive creature, surely."
[2023/11/10 16:37] Alicia Frakture: Sooooo you're not here to attack us?
[2023/11/10 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure looks astonished. "Attack you...? Why would I do that?"
[2023/11/10 16:38] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I'd hope not. Had enough of that for a month."
[2023/11/10 16:38] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me she laughed, "well yes i suppose could spend all day hiding all the time but sometimes something shiny shows up and just have to look!"
[2023/11/10 16:38] Alicia Frakture: Seems to be a running theme around us
[2023/11/10 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Are you... brigands...?"
[2023/11/10 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Brigands? I don't even know the meaning of the word... Seriously what's it mean?"
[2023/11/10 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure just looks at you for a few. "Brigands... rogues... thieves. Are you outlaws?"
[2023/11/10 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Shouldn't be. I'm pretty sure the courts would have said something if they were that unhappy with us. And would have written the notice in the local language instead of weird script."
[2023/11/10 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: "This is a strange situation indeed... but pixies wouldn't associate with brigands... Why is that person lying in the middle of the road?"
[2023/11/10 16:43] Alicia Frakture: He attacked, we defended
[2023/11/10 16:43] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "They were trying to kill us, unprovoked, and failed. You showed up before we had a chance to bury them."
[2023/11/10 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Is he dead?"
[2023/11/10 16:44] Alicia Frakture: be kind of cruel to bury them if they're not dead
[2023/11/10 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: "You have a very strange way of speaking. Have you shovels... wait, shouldn't the body be taken to the nearest sherrif or temple?"
[2023/11/10 16:47] Alicia Frakture: that is... actually a very good point
[2023/11/10 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: "There may be family members who wish to reclaim the body. It would be the right thing to do."
[2023/11/10 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Great way to make an impression with the sheriff. 'Hey, some strange cult is trying to kill me, can you help?'. " Her tone suggests a lack of expectation in the sheriff being helpful in that sort of situation.
[2023/11/10 16:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "'Specially if we show up with a body in tow."
[2023/11/10 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: "The nearest temple, then. It's the right thing to do."
[2023/11/10 16:49] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): "Sheriff might not like that at all..."
[2023/11/10 16:50] Alicia Frakture: Leesha ponders this."Where is the nearest temple?"
[2023/11/10 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: (At the village you're going to, as I recall)
[2023/11/10 16:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So where are you from, anyway? Not every day you see people apeparing out of big blue spheres of lightning."
[2023/11/10 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: "I am from... far away. I am on a quest, of the utmost importance."
[2023/11/10 16:52] Alicia Frakture: Leesha narrows her eyes for a moment as she thinks of two things
[2023/11/10 16:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Want to talk about it while we get this guy over to a temple?"
[2023/11/10 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: "That would seem to be a good idea. There may be other ruffians, it might not be wise to tarry here."
[2023/11/10 16:54] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks over and tries to lift the body on her shoulder to carry him
[2023/11/10 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure moves quickly to help. "Allow me."
[2023/11/10 16:55] Alicia Frakture: You sure?
[2023/11/10 16:55] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me flies alongside Debben following until she cant keep up well and looks to her see if it is ok to ride on her shoulder
[2023/11/10 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: "I can manage, I am sure."
[2023/11/10 16:56] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shrugs and nods."Sure, have at it."
[2023/11/10 16:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will keep looking out for the wagon as they start moving.
[2023/11/10 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure hauls the body up over her shoulder, staggering a little, but manages to lift and carry the body, if a little awkwardly. "You are a strange party, if you don't mind my saying."
[2023/11/10 17:00] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "What sort of parties are you used to?"
[2023/11/10 17:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Well! Now you ask... none. But, are humans rare now?"
[2023/11/10 17:01] Alicia Frakture: Leesha pauses."Why does that sound familiar?"
[2023/11/10 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "There's some in the next city over."
[2023/11/10 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Some? Interesting. Who is the local priest, what is their god or goddess?"
[2023/11/10 17:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben glances to Dhalia to field that one
[2023/11/10 17:06] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me "There are actually quite a few deities that are worshipped in the region. It's not uncommon to find all sorts of followers of different powers roaming. In larger cities though you get bigger temples usually devoted to one of the greater powers, out here I'm expecting more variety." she spoke in a friendly way
[2023/11/10 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: "I see... they are mostly good deities?"
[2023/11/10 17:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Depends what 'good' means to you," she shrugs. "You seem like a warrior or soldier of some sort, right? So different gods are good then for, say, a moss-farmer or a stone smoother."
[2023/11/10 17:09] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me perked up and spoke again, "Oh i wish people would stick to the good aligned deities.... But for some reason they choose to worship all sorts and its hard to know which worship what until they let you know or you cast magic to let you see their alignement"
[2023/11/10 17:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: "We share the same opinion, pixie. As to what means 'good' to me, that would be anything that benefits everyone as a whole, that is done truthfully and honestly."
[2023/11/10 17:11] Alicia Frakture: Leesha just listens as they walk
[2023/11/10 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "You sure they'er not just appeasing the mean gods? I hear lots of them take bribes to leave you alone."
[2023/11/10 17:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: The village starts to come in sight, or, since the village is very diffuse, various signs of civilization become more noticeable, tracks, trails, ploughed fields, barns, farm houses.
[2023/11/10 17:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Bribes!" snorts the figure.
[2023/11/10 17:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Guess we arrive fairly shortly at the temple, where the priest isn't exactly thrilled at being given a dead body.
[2023/11/10 17:17] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head."Okay we can just take him to the temple, then I have someone to check on."
[2023/11/10 17:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Who would you prefer this been taken too?" she asks of the priest.
[2023/11/10 17:19] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): /me looks around the temple to see if it is dedicated to a particular deity or just a general temple
[2023/11/10 17:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priest just shakes his head, as if this is yet another problem to deal with (which, it kinda is...) and once that is done, outside the temple you see a number of carts and wagons rolling up. A trade caravan, apparantly.
[2023/11/10 17:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The temple is dedicated to Dionysus, a god of the harvest.
[2023/11/10 17:21] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Also of booze, which is debbens kind of deity
[2023/11/10 17:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: Very true!
[2023/11/10 17:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Wagons! Do any of them seem oddly fey in appearance? She'll take a walk once it seems like she shouldn't be in the temple further
[2023/11/10 17:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: The waggons mostly look like battered peasant waggons, carrying crates and barrels and planks and coils of ropes and rolls of canvas. There is a cart at the end, with a gnome sat in the drivers' bench, the cart itself full of long thick tubes and stakes and coils of rope.
[2023/11/10 17:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh, hey, well met!" greets the gnome. "Boddyknocks' the name, are you maybe heading out sometime? I could use company if you are."
[2023/11/10 17:25] Alicia Frakture: Heading out? We just got here.
[2023/11/10 17:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: A gnome! Don't see those too often. "Debben. Not sure of our schedule yet. probaly not staying here indefinately, but not sure exactly when we're heading out."
[2023/11/10 17:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh. Well, mayhap we'll meet in the inn. I think some ale after our journey wouldn't go amiss."
[2023/11/10 17:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Pleased to meet you, Debben! Perhaps you'll be at the inn later?"
[2023/11/10 17:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Pretty likely, yeah," she nods.
[2023/11/10 17:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: While you're talking, a hulking figure lurches out from behind a waggon, and grabs Leesha. "Hurr! Fresh meat!"
[2023/11/10 17:31] Alicia Frakture: *Grabbing from the front or back?*
[2023/11/10 17:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: From behind.
[2023/11/10 17:33] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head before trying to slam her head head back into hulking figures face.
[2023/11/10 17:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: The figure lets go and steps back, laughing uproariously. It's a rather large and rather elderly looking orc! "Leeshy, you always so jumpy! Ever since so young. Such a minx. One day you make an orc a happy orc. How granny?"
[2023/11/10 17:35] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): attempts to cast hold person on the hulking figure
[2023/11/10 17:35] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (kitten.venus): stops her spell hearing the spech between the two
[2023/11/10 17:37] Alicia Frakture: Leesha turns around, looking more embarrassed than upset. Sorry, rough few days."
[2023/11/10 17:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Awh. You need rest. Maybe some of Grannys' potato pie. Me go see Granny, you friends coming?"
[2023/11/10 17:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: And the stone figure, to Dahlia: "...pixie... does this happen a lot...?"
[2023/11/10 17:39] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Might as well. Rest, and then regroup to track down where our promised wagon went to." Also the horse, though that might be easier to do without.
[2023/11/10 17:40] Alicia Frakture: Oh yeah, gotta check on Granny anyway, make sure everything is okay.
[2023/11/10 17:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Good! We go see Granny. Me not seen Granny in long time."
[2023/11/10 17:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Not -much- of a cliff hanger, but, I felt stopping a few lines earlier would be cruel!
[2023/11/10 17:42] Alicia Frakture: *Okay question.. Who is this figure? Brain is pudding at the moment*
[2023/11/10 17:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: The big orc looks at you. "Leeshy no remember Vorag? Me bounce you on knee when you little."
[2023/11/10 17:45] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at him."Damn. I am sorry, like I said, rough few days. Sometimes i ran into things that turned from goblins to fairies and a variety of other things.. Not even sure I'm me."
[2023/11/10 17:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Forget Vorag Ghouleater? Some potato pie help remember."
[2023/11/10 17:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Definitely got to stop there, it's nearing 2am)
